Information for Teams - 2009 Season
Information for teams for 2009 Season 
Teams applying for entry into the IAFA need to be aware of the following terms & conditions. 
  • Applications will be based on merit and preference is given to extensions of existing teams/clubs in the IAFA
  • All games are scheduled to be played at either 1pm or 3pm on the allocated Saturday – your playing roster must be available for these times
  • Vacancies in the competition will be filled on a “as required” basis and are limited due to the current size of the competition
  • For new teams only: Nominations must specify preferred division i.e. Masters 1/2 or Opens 1/2/3 - this is only a guide and does not guarantee placement in that division
  • Nomination for the competition does not guarantee entry (see Rules & Regulations for further details)
  • Nomination forms are available in the "Downloads" section of this website.
 Points that will assist in successful nomination will include:
  • Pre-arranged use of ground – either council or private – including nets, corner flags and access for other teams
  • Ground share team partnership arranged – to assist with the competition draw and line duty for teams in the IAFA, it is advised that all teams have a ground share partner team
  • Nomination and payment of nomination fee prior to the nomination closing date (Monday 1st December)
All nominations for the 2009 season will close on Monday 1st December.

2009 Playing Fees and associated costs:
 
The fees below are payable to the IAFA for each team within the competition: 
Nomination Fee (non-refundable, unless nomination not accepted)Must be paid at time of nomination$200
Team Bond (paid upon entry into competition)$100
Registration Fee (20 players at $10 each)$200
Player Insurance(clubs will ONLY be charged for 16 players @ $90 each)$1440
Annual Presentation Tickets – Compulsory(4 tickets @ $30 each)$120 
Ground Fees **(for Wollongong City Council grounds ONLY)$575** 
Total$2635
  **For grounds under Shellharbour Council or private ground hire, please contact the respective organisation for their fee structure.  
Ground fees are 2008 figures and these may be subject to respective Council increases.
Figures for WCC ground hire as of 5/11/08 are:$26.10 p/hr for Minimum 2 hrs (11 home games at this rate = $574.60)  

Additional team expenses:
 
Referee’s Fees(to be paid to the referee by the home team before each game)$45 per game
 
The IAFA provides for 16 individual trophies for each team winning their respective division, plus both grand finalists. The Association also pays for the Finals series referees and ground hire for the finals series.

It is important that all clubs attend the AGM as there are many relevant items to discuss.

Items to be discussed on the night will include:

1. Unification - discussions & details so far and where to from here

2. Team Nominations for 2009 - details of nomination process, costs and closing dates for 2009 entry.
New and Existing teams are urged to attend for these details.
Team nominations for 2009 will open on Nov 5 and close on Mon 1 Dec 2008.

3. Committee Members for 2009 - introduction of IAFA Committee for 2009

4. Changes to Rules & Regulations for 2009 - minor amendments to current Rules & Regulations discussed and approved.
This will include changes to "no slide tackle" in Masters 2, numbers of Under 35's in Masters 2 and playing of "Wash-out" games in Masters.
Other suggestions/ideas for changes can also be raised and discussed. Please email these to info@iafa.com.au for inclusion on the agenda.

5. Other Business - other football related issues that may arise

IAFA Committee Nominations

Nominations are now open for officials/players interested in joining the IAFA Committee. In accordance with our Constitution 14 days notice must be given prior to the AGM.

All interested persons should submit their nomination via email to info@iafa.com.au no later than Fri 31 Oct.

This is your competition. People with time, business skills and a passion for playing football are urged to nominate to continue to ensure the success of the IAFA.
Further details about roles, scope of positions and time commitments can be provided upon request.
